AGREE TO DISAGREE: STEELERS-BRONCOS

From "Agree to Disagree" on the Pittsburgh Steelers web page with my responses.

CLEVELAND WAS A WASTE OF TIME – AGREE

PROS:
  1. They won (but it was for nothing).
  2. The Steelers' offense had over 40 minutes of time of possession (but it was Cleveland).
  3. The defense did not yield a TD (but it was Cleveland).
  4. The defense came up with an interception by Troy Ploamalu who is playing very well here at the end of the season
CONS:
  1. Roethlisberger regressed physically after playing last week.
  2. Isaac Redman fumbled twice in the 4th quarter of a 4 point game filling in for Mendenhall.
  3. Another chapter of poor red zone offense (and it was Cleveland).
  4. They lost their starting running back. To ME, this is not a tragedy other than the loss of depth at that position. I like Issac Redman. He's a downhill runner; no dodging, juking, side-stepping, etc. He runs north-south and he runs hard. He's not overly fast, but that's OK with me. Best said, he's a Jerome Bettis runner, and who wouldn't want to have HIM back now?
  5. They lost a CB.

But more important, I said Tomlin should have played Batch against Cleveland to rest Ben for the more difficult and important games to follow. What happened? Tomlin again yielded to Ben's attitude of self importance. Now Ben's apparently worse off than he was going into the game even though he had a week of rest prior. Who'd have thunk it? I still say the Steelers should play Batch against Denver. It's the same situation this week as last. Batch CAN beat Denver because of Tebow. There will be NO Tebows after this week and THAT'S when they'll need Ben.It's just likely the Steelers could lose WITH Ben this week in his condition as he's more likely to force passes to make plays which could be trouble. Play Batch.

TIM TEBOW PASSING WILL DECIDED THE STEELERS-BRONCOS GAME – DISAGREE

  1. Ben Roethlisberger's passing will decide the game (either way).
  2. Tebow is NOT a passer. He's an option QB and he only ran 5 times last week against Kansas City.
  3. The Broncos have the number one running attack n the NFL, so they will run.
  4. Even though the Steelers will be down two DB's (Clark and Cortez Allen).
  5. Look for Polamalu to tear Tebow a new one.

THERE ARE ONLY TWO TEAMS TO FEAR IN THESE PLAYOFFS AND BOTH ARE IN THE NFC – DISAGREE

Look at the stats. The two best teams in the NFC HAVE NO DEFENSE (Green Bay is LAST (below New England, even) and New Orleans is 24th. Probably the worst (or best) SB match up could be GB v. NE but who wants to see THAT (52-49)?

I WANT TO GO TO BALTIMORE NEXT – DISAGREE

Did I mention that New England's defense STINKS? They have WRs playing DB for crying out loud. By the way, what did New England do with the 8 choices they had in the first 4 rounds of the draft this year?
