"I'M NUMBER ONE."

Or so Iowa State's Royce White said to the crowd in Louisville. After his statement, Kentucky outscored Iowa State 45-29 to pull away after State put on an early second half run to square the game at 42. Royce almost transferred to UK but who the heck needs him, especially when you've go what Kentucky's got--LOTS of really good players, again.

Coach Calipari had a lot to be happy about as Freshman, yes Freshman, Marques Teague scored 24 points to lead the 34-2 Wildcats.

I was actually hoping Kentucky would lose a game prior to the NCAA Tournament and they did. Losing after a 23-game winning streak in the SEC Championship game (to Vanderbilt) was the best thing that could have happened. Otherwise they would have had to have won 30 consecutive games to go through the tournament and win their 8th National Championship. Not an insignificant feat, even for the Cats.

Next UK plays Indiana the only other team to defeat them this year (63-62). Since Indiana is one of three historical rivals of Kentucky, the others being Louisville and Tennessee, the Cats will be looking to get revenge for the earlier loss which came just prior to Kentucky's 23-game streak.
