SOME REVENGE

WOW, defense!

Although I can't find it now I believe I suggested that the Penguins should pull their goaltender at the beginning of Game 3 and let the Flyers score first. This after the Penguins had taken the first period lead in the previous 5 games with the Flyers all of which they had ultimately lost. Well, it took them another first period lead and a loss to figure it out but last night the Flyers DID score first and the Penguins DID win the game. Bylsma, next time READ THE BLOG.

"Who are those guys?"

It was funny. The Penguins looked like the Penguins of Games 1 through 3 at the start (except for not scoring first) and the Flyers looked like the Penguins of Games 1 through 3 the rest of the game. Two Philadelphia goaltenders, 5 goals each. That's pretty good scoring distribution. And the Pens did it without James Neal (suspension), Craig Adams (suspension), Aaron Asham (suspension) and Paul Martin (injury).

Staal, Malkin and Crosby scored a total of seven goals and it was Jordan Staal's hat trick that led the way. Staal is typically a monster in the playofss and has scored five goals in the lat two games and if he keeps up that pace the Penguins CAN come back.

But the Flyers keep scoring power play goals. They just didn't get as many chances in Game 4. Didn't the Penguins kill like 30 consecutive power plays at some point in the season. What happened to that?

But the Flyers are talking penalties, as well. Some of them of the stupid variety.

This is one of the Flyers' favorite moves: cross-checking a Penguin in the back about eight times and once more for good measure when he goes to the ice.

Typical of the way things were going for the Flyers Steve Sullivan scored a nifty goal skating the length of the ice off a pass from Marc-Andre Fleury who registered and assist.

In the first period of last night's game this was going to be the highest scoring four-game playoff series n Stanley Cup history. Let's see what happens if it goes seven. I have a feeling someone's going to throw a little "D" around in Game 5.
