1. Barring a miracle of Biblical proportions Marc-Andre Fleury will be crowned NOT the franchise goaltender. Perhaps the REGULAR SEASON franchise goaltender but that counts for shit.
2. The Penguins defense can be crowned as disgustingly inept and just about everyone but Letang can be considered to be trade bait (although what they'd get for them now I'm not sure).
3. I have no idea who can even vaguely be considered a "stand out" in this debacle. NO ONE has done anything even remotely worth talking about.
4. Bylsma did NOT do what I suggested: The Penguins' locker room in Pittsburgh is still in tact, Fleury started Game 3, and the same humps from Games 1 and 2 who should have been sent packing to Wilkes-Barre in exchange for players who gave a shit were still in the lineup. Why to fucking go, Dan!
5. The best thing to do is tank Game 4 and get the fuck out of Dodge. They don't deserve ANY type of ovation from the Pittsburgh fans should a Game 5 be necessary.
What's even worse, since the 2006-2007 season the Pens have finished 1st or 2nd in their division, meaning either 1st or 4th in the Conference. What did they do with this:
- Lost in Conference Quarterfinals vs Ottawa Senators, 1–4
- Lost in Stanley Cup Finals vs Detroit Red Wings, 2–4
- Won in Stanley Cup Finals vs Detroit Red Wings, 4–3
- Lost in Conference Semifinals vs Montreal Canadiens, 3–4
- Lost in Conference Quarterfinals vs Tampa Bay Lightning, 3–4
- And now are one game away from being SWEPT out of the Conference Quarterfinals
This is for a team that has won an average of 103 games over those seasons, dipping below 100 only once (99). Which is GREAT for those regular season sell outs but otherwise SUCKS!
